Stockport Advanced Motorists currently comprises 66 Full Members, 3 Fellows and 17 Associates. 

We have six IMI-accredited National Observers and two more candidates undergoing training.

Sarah Ellis has passed her assessment and become an IMI-accredited National Observer.  Many, many

congratulations on this outstanding achievement, and warmest wishes to Sarah.

The Stockport Advanced Motorists group is affiliated to IAM RoadSmart and has been providing IAM Roadsmart Advanced Driver Courses since 1978 in Stockport and the surrounding areas, with the aim of promoting better driving standards and improving safety on the roads.

Where possible we work with local companies and obtain funds to provide sponsored places for younger drivers (currently extended to those up to 35 years of age) who are statistically most likely to be involved in collisions on the road.

The IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driver Course covers all types of road situations, including motorway driving, and helps students to develop driver skills in anticipating and dealing with potential hazardous situations.
